We all remember how psyched Charlie was when he snagged that golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The stakes were high; there were only 5 tickets to begin with and he managed to find the only remaining one. It was definitely a nice moment, but Charlie just won a tour of a factory. Imagine how great it would've been if he won something a bit more exciting, like a 545hp sports car.
A lucky fan recently did just that when he grabbed one of only two golden GT-R models in the world at a charity auction. We imagine he was pretty pleased about it, too. Maybe his Uncle Joe even hopped out of bed to take a spin with him.
Of course, this isn't the Nissan GT-R that you'll find in our showroom. It's an exact replica of the famous special edition GT-R made for Olympic gold medal-winner, Usain Bolt. So as you might imagine, it came along with a pretty hefty price tag. In fact, the winning bid was a whopping $187,100, but the really good news is that the money will go to a great cause. All of the proceeds will make their way into the Usain Bolt Foundation which helps children in Jamaica with educational ventures.
So there you have it, one lucky man has his golden car and plenty of lucky kids reap the benefits. Sounds like a win-win to our Yark Nissan staff.
