Believe it or not, summer is underway and the 4th is only a couple days off. Of course, it's a big traveling holiday and for many folks, it will be the first road trip of the summer. So we thought we'd go over a few things to check out before you hit the road. After all, you don't want to realize that you need car repairs when you're twenty minutes outside of Toledo.

  1. Check your tires. If you've got wear on the outsides, then you may need to add more air. Rough center surfaces can often indicate over-inflation. So if that's the case, let a little out. Of course, use a pressure gauge and if you find that air isn't an issue, but your tires are worn, you might need a quick alignment.
  2. At this point in the season, you've likely used your air conditioner a few times. If things are running smoothly, then you should be good to go. However, if you've picked up on an odor, or if you're not getting the icy blast that you'd expect, there's a chance you need a little maintenance.
  3. Finally, before a long ride it's always a good idea to give the fluids a once-over. Check out the oil levels, and check your records for the last change you've had. Then, take a look at your steering and brake fluids to make sure you're prepped for the journey.

Hopefully, you're in good shape for the road, but if you need anything from maintenance to car parts, our Yark Nissan staff is here to help. Feel free to give us a call or just drop into our Nissan dealership at 5957 West Central Ave Toledo, OH.
