We know vehicles that many new Nissan vehicles available here at Yark Nissan like the Nissan Maxima impress Toledo area drivers with their top-notch styling and diverse driving capabilities. But if you still need convincing that Nissan is a leading automaker, the Japanese company has recently taken another step to reduce the environmental effects from the process it uses to paint its automobiles.
Specifically, the Japanese brand recently unveiled plans for the paint shop where the already low-impact Nissan LEAF is produced. Implementing a new process for finishing the exterior of each auto will help make Nissan one of the leaders of the automotive industry in terms of environmental responsibility.
Leading the charge in this renewed march toward eco-friendliness is a three-wet paint system. The old process required each coat of exterior color be set by a baking process after each layer of paint. Now however, the reformed procedure lays all three at the same time and concurrently dries them.
This is easier to control, and allows the automaker to paint more vehicles in a shorter period of time. Of course, this equates to less energy use and increased capacity for production at the plant as well. This is good news for anyone out there looking to buy an electric model by Nissan.
