You may have heard that Nissan Rogue would be redesigned within the next few years. However, details have been sparse and overall there hasn't been much more news about the retooling of late. Here at Yark Nissan, we simply interpreted this lack of buzz to mean that Nissan hadn't devoted much time to developing next generation yet, but, man, were we wrong.
Much to the surprise our Toledo, OH staff, though ironically true to its name, the Nissan in question has clandestinely been refreshed and it's almost ready to go.
Spy shots of the revamped Rogue in testing reveal a major styling overhaul. A new angled nose really sets the tone as bold curves have been replaced with much sharper lines. Re-sculpted tail lights also add to its new identity.
It's a little early to tell whether or not the Rogue will retain its current 4-cylinder, 170hp engine or if it will be equipped with any new powertrain options. However, we do know that this vehicle will be the first to make use of the new Common Module Family platform. This isn't just parts sharing that we're talking about; this concept brings a series of flexible platform components to the table, allowing models in different segments to utilize some of the same architecture.
We're not exactly sure when the curtain will officially be pulled back, but the Los Angeles Auto Show in November is our best guess as it looks like the new Rogue will be released as early as 2014.
