Yark Nissan, is very pleased by the fact that more and more new Nissan models are not only being sold in the United States, but are also being made here. Next year, both the Nissan Rogue crossover and Nissan LEAF electric vehicle will be joining the growing line-up of Nissan vehicles produced in Smyrna, TN. What's more is that there have been whispers that a 3rd model could be joining the others very soon.

So you're probably wondering what model we are referring to?

That would be none other than the Nissan Murano mid-size crossover according to one prominent business newspaper in Japan. When Nissan was probed for a comment, they replied, "We have made no announcements concerning future sourcing of the Murano."1

It seems a bit odd that Nissan would take the time to address this rumor so quickly. Add to that the fact that the Yen has been steadily increasing in value, and it almost seems to be the obvious choice for the future on a financial basis.  This is true especially given the fact that Nissan will save money by producing the vehicles in the part of the world where they will be sold.  That eliminates import costs and exchange rates.

So do you think the Murano will change anyway being produced stateside?

Not likely. Other vehicles that Nissan produces here in the United States include the mid-size Nissan Altima sedan and the seven-passenger Nissan Pathfinder.  Those vehicles are just as solid as ever.

For now, Yark Nissan, located at 5957 West Central Ave is going to be watching for any updates on Nissan production. We will be sure to post it here on our blog if we find anything out, so subscribe to our blog through your RSS reader to make sure you do not miss any information.
